Located in Oshawa’s Northwood Business Park, Project General is a 379,000 sq. ft. cold storage facility designed to accommodate up to 60,000 pallets in both cooler and freezer environments. The building is zero-carbon ready with the potential for Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) certification, relying entirely on Ontario’s power grid with no non-renewable energy sources. Energy-efficient lighting, high insulation values, and reclaimed heat from the refrigeration system will minimize energy consumption, while a white roof reduces the heat island effect. Future rooftop solar panels will further enhance sustainability by offsetting power grid reliance.
